Description
A refreshing and easy-to-make watermelon granita that’s perfect for hot summer days.
Ingredients
Scale
- 4 cups of seedless watermelon, cubed
- 1/4 cup of sugar (adjust for sweetness)
- 1 tablespoon of fresh lime juice
- 1/4 cup of water
Instructions
- Place the watermelon, sugar, lime juice, and water in a blender.
- Blend until smooth.
- Pour the mixture into a shallow dish.
- Freeze for about 2 hours, or until the edges begin to freeze.
- Scrape the mixture with a fork to create fluffy ice crystals.
- Return to the freezer and scrape every 30 minutes until fully frozen.
- Serve in chilled bowls or cups.
Notes
- Granita can be made a day ahead and stored in the freezer.
- Adjust the sweetness by adding more or less sugar based on the sweetness of the watermelon.
- For a twist, add mint leaves or other fruits to the mixture before blending.
