Trinidadian Boiled Corn is a simple yet delicious dish made with fresh corn, boiled to perfection and often enhanced with coconut milk and butter. It’s a popular street food in Trinidad and Tobago, enjoyed for its sweet and savory flavors.
Ingredients
4 ears of fresh corn, husked and cleaned
1 tablespoon salt
1 tablespoon sugar
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1/4 cup coconut milk (optional)
1 tablespoon butter (optional)
Instructions
Fill a large pot with water and add the salt and sugar. Bring the water to a boil.
Once the water is boiling, add the husked corn to the pot.
Boil the corn for about 20 minutes or until tender.
If using, add the coconut milk and butter during the last 5 minutes of boiling for added flavor.
Remove the corn from the pot and let it cool slightly before serving.
Serve warm, optionally with additional butter or seasoning.
