How to make Sticky Beef Noodles with tender beef, chewy noodles, and a rich, glossy sauce that’s ready in under 30 minutes.
Ingredients
- Main Components:
- 1 pound flank steak, thinly sliced against the grain
- 8 ounces dried egg noodles
- 1 red bell pepper, thinly sliced
- 1/2 yellow onion, thinly sliced
- 1 cup broccoli florets
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- Flavor Builders:
- 1/2 cup low-sodium soy sauce
- 1/4 cup hoisin sauce
- 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
- 1 tablespoon toasted sesame oil
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 inch fresh ginger, grated
- Seasonings & Thickener:
- 1/4 cup packed light brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons cornstarch
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- Finishing & Toppings:
- 2 green onions, sliced
- 1 tablespoon sesame seeds
Instructions
- Prep Beef & Sauce: Thinly slice flank steak against the grain. In a bowl, whisk together soy sauce, hoisin, rice vinegar, sesame oil, minced garlic, grated ginger, brown sugar, cornstarch, and black pepper. Marinate beef in half of this sauce for 15 minutes.
- Boil Noodles & Sauté: Boil egg noodles according to package directions until al dente, then drain well. In a large skillet or wok, heat 1 tablespoon vegetable oil. Sauté bell pepper, onion, and broccoli until tender-crisp, about 5-7 minutes. Remove veggies from the pan.
- Sear Beef: Add remaining vegetable oil to the skillet over medium-high heat. Sear the marinated beef in batches until nicely browned and cooked through, about 2 minutes per side. Avoid overcrowding the pan for a good sear. Remove beef and set aside.
- Simmer Sticky Sauce: Return the seared beef and cooked vegetables to the skillet. Pour in the remaining sauce mixture. Bring to a gentle simmer, stirring continuously until the sauce thickens and becomes wonderfully glossy. This creates the signature Sticky Beef Noodles coating.
- Toss Noodles: Add the drained, cooked egg noodles directly into the skillet with the beef and vegetables. Toss everything gently to ensure the noodles are fully coated in that incredible sticky sauce. This completes your delicious Sticky Beef Noodles.
- Garnish & Serve: Transfer your Ultimate Sticky Beef Noodles to individual bowls. Garnish generously with freshly sliced green onions and a sprinkle of toasted sesame seeds. Serve immediately and enjoy this truly satisfying meal.
