Ingredients

  • 1 box of yellow cake mix
  • 1 cup of sour cream
  • 1/2 cup of vegetable oil
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
  • 1 cup of fresh strawberries, chopped
  • 1/2 cup of brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon of ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup of powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons of milk

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, mix the cake mix, sour cream, vegetable oil, eggs, and vanilla until well combined.
  3. Fold in the chopped strawberries gently.
  4. In a separate small bowl, combine the brown sugar and cinnamon.
  5. Pour half of the cake batter into a greased 9×13 inch pan.
  6. Sprinkle half of the brown sugar mixture over the batter.
  7. Pour the remaining batter on top and sprinkle with the remaining brown sugar mixture.
  8. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  9. While the cake is baking, mix the powdered sugar and milk to create a glaze.
  10. Drizzle the glaze over the cake after it has cooled for about 10 minutes.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, add a teaspoon of almond extract to the batter.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature.
