- 1 box of yellow cake mix
- 1 cup of sour cream
- 1/2 cup of vegetable oil
- 4 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
- 1 cup of fresh strawberries, chopped
- 1/2 cup of brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon of ground cinnamon
- 1/2 cup of powdered sugar
- 2 tablespoons of milk
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large bowl, mix the cake mix, sour cream, vegetable oil, eggs, and vanilla until well combined.
- Fold in the chopped strawberries gently.
- In a separate small bowl, combine the brown sugar and cinnamon.
- Pour half of the cake batter into a greased 9×13 inch pan.
- Sprinkle half of the brown sugar mixture over the batter.
- Pour the remaining batter on top and sprinkle with the remaining brown sugar mixture.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- While the cake is baking, mix the powdered sugar and milk to create a glaze.
- Drizzle the glaze over the cake after it has cooled for about 10 minutes.
Notes
- For extra flavor, add a teaspoon of almond extract to the batter.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature.
- This cake can also be served warm with ice cream for a delicious dessert.
