Ingredients

  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon active dry yeast
  • 3/4 cup warm milk
  • 1/4 cup melted butter
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup strawberries, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons cream cheese
  • 1 tablespoon milk (for glaze)

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix warm milk and yeast. Let it sit for 5 minutes.
  2. Add melted butter, sugar, egg, and vanilla to the yeast mixture and stir.
  3. Gradually add flour and salt, knead until smooth.
  4. Let the dough rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  5. Roll the dough into a rectangle and spread with melted butter.
  6. Sprinkle cinnamon and brown sugar over the butter, then add chopped strawberries.
  7. Roll up the dough tightly and slice into rolls.
  8. Place rolls in a greased baking dish and let rise for another 30 minutes.
  9. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
  10. For the glaze, mix powdered sugar, cream cheese, and milk until smooth. Drizzle over warm rolls.

Notes

  • For a vegan version, use almond milk and a flax egg.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
