- 1 cup warm milk (110°F)
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 2 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast
- 1/3 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 large egg
- 3 1/2 to 4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup cream cheese, softened
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 1/4 cup strawberries, diced
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
Instructions
- In a small bowl, combine warm milk, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for 5 minutes until bubbly.
- In a large bowl, mix together melted butter, salt, egg, and yeast mixture.
- Gradually add flour, mixing until a dough forms. Knead for about 5-7 minutes until smooth.
- Cover the dough and let it rise in a warm place for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
- In a separate bowl, combine cream cheese, powdered sugar, diced strawberries, lemon juice, and vanilla extract to make the filling.
- Once the dough has risen, roll it out into a rectangle and spread the cheesecake filling evenly over it.
- Sprinkle with cinnamon and brown sugar, then roll the dough tightly into a log.
- Cut the log into 12 equal pieces and place them in a greased baking dish.
- Cover the rolls and let them rise for another 30 minutes.
- Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
- While baking, prepare the cream cheese frosting by mixing softened cream cheese and powdered sugar until smooth.
- Once the rolls are out of the oven, spread the frosting on top while warm and enjoy!
Notes
- For an extra strawberry flavor, add a few more diced strawberries to the filling.
- Make sure the milk is warm, not hot, to avoid killing the yeast.
- These rolls are best served fresh but can be stored in an airtight container for up to 2 days.
