A hearty and flavorful meat sauce perfect for spaghetti, made with ground beef, tomatoes, and a blend of spices.
Ingredients

- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 can (28 oz) crushed tomatoes
- 2 tbsp tomato paste
- 1 tsp dried basil
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 lb spaghetti
- Grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
Instructions
- In a large skillet, brown the ground beef over medium heat.
- Add chopped onion and minced garlic, cooking until the onion is translucent.
- Stir in the crushed tomatoes and tomato paste.
- Add basil, oregano, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Meanwhile, cook spaghetti according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
- Serve the meat sauce over the cooked spaghetti. Top with grated Parmesan cheese if desired.
Notes
- For a spicier sauce, add red pepper flakes.
- This sauce can be made ahead of time and stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
- Freezes well for up to 3 months.
