Ingredients

  • 2 tbsp tomato paste
  • 1 tsp dried basil
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 lb spaghetti
  • Grated Parmesan cheese (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet, brown the ground beef over medium heat.
  2. Add chopped onion and minced garlic, cooking until the onion is translucent.
  3. Stir in the crushed tomatoes and tomato paste.
  4. Add basil, oregano, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  5. Meanwhile, cook spaghetti according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
  6. Serve the meat sauce over the cooked spaghetti. Top with grated Parmesan cheese if desired.

Notes

  • For a spicier sauce, add red pepper flakes.
  • This sauce can be made ahead of time and stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
