Description

A delicious Southern Peach Crumb Cake that combines the sweetness of fresh peaches with a buttery crumb topping, perfect for breakfast or dessert.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups fresh peaches, peeled and sliced
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup rolled oats
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup chopped nuts (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9-inch round cake pan.
  2. In a mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, then stir in the milk and vanilla extract.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until just combined.
  5. Fold in the sliced peaches and pour the batter into the prepared cake pan.
  6. In a separate bowl, mix the brown sugar, oats, cinnamon, and chopped nuts (if using) for the crumb topping. Sprinkle it evenly over the cake batter.
  7. Bake for 40-45 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  8. Allow to cool for 10 minutes in the pan before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
