Instructions
- In a small bowl, dissolve yeast and sugar in warm water; let it sit until frothy.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine flour and salt.
- Add the yeast mixture to the flour, mixing until a dough forms.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5-7 minutes until smooth.
- In a skillet, heat olive oil and sauté onions until caramelized (about 10 minutes).
- Allow onions to cool slightly, then fold into the dough along with cheese, garlic powder, and black pepper.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Shape the dough into a loaf and place in a greased loaf pan.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes or until golden brown and sounds hollow when tapped.
- Cool on a wire rack before slicing.

- For extra flavor, you can add herbs like thyme or rosemary.
