A classic Sloppy Joe recipe featuring ground beef in a tangy tomato sauce served on a bun.
Ingredients

- 1 lb ground beef
- 1/2 cup onion, chopped
- 1/4 cup green bell pepper, chopped
- 1 cup ketchup
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon mustard
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 4 hamburger buns
Instructions
- In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until browned. Drain excess fat.
- Add onion and green bell pepper to the skillet and sauté until softened.
- Stir in ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, brown sugar, mustard, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
- Simmer the mixture for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Serve the Sloppy Joe mixture on hamburger buns.
Notes
- For a spicier version, add hot sauce to the mixture.
- Can be made ahead and reheated before serving.
- Serve with pickles or coleslaw for added crunch.
