Description

A classic Sloppy Joe recipe featuring ground beef in a tangy tomato sauce served on a bun.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1/2 cup onion, chopped
  • 1/4 cup green bell pepper, chopped
  • 1 cup ketchup
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon mustard
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until browned. Drain excess fat.
  2. Add onion and green bell pepper to the skillet and sauté until softened.
  3. Stir in ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, brown sugar, mustard, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
  4. Simmer the mixture for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Notes

  • For a spicier version, add hot sauce to the mixture.
  • Can be made ahead and reheated before serving.
