Description
Delicious sausage rolls wrapped in flaky puff pastry, drizzled with hot honey for a sweet and spicy kick.
Ingredients
1 pound sausage (pork or chicken)
1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
1 tablespoon hot honey
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon onion powder
Salt and pepper to taste
Sesame seeds (optional, for garnish)
Instructions
Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
In a mixing bowl, combine the sausage, Dijon mustard, hot honey, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.
Roll out the puff pastry on a lightly floured surface to smooth out any creases.
Cut the puff pastry into rectangles, approximately 4 inches by 6 inches.
Place a generous amount of the sausage mixture along one edge of each pastry rectangle.
Roll the pastry over the sausage mixture to form a log, sealing the edges with a bit of beaten egg.
Place the sausage rolls seam-side down on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
Brush the tops of the rolls with the remaining beaten egg and sprinkle with sesame seeds if desired.
Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until golden brown and puffed.
Remove from the oven and let cool slightly before serving.
