  • Total Time: 80 minutes
  • Yield: 6 servings 1x

Description

A creamy and flavorful gratin made with layers of potatoes, mushrooms, and Gorgonzola cheese, baked to perfection.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 large potatoes, thinly sliced
  • 2 cups mushrooms, sliced
  • 1 cup Gorgonzola cheese, crumbled
  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons fresh thyme, chopped
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat and sauté the garlic and mushrooms until softened.
  3. In a large bowl, mix the heavy cream, thyme, salt, and pepper.
  4. In a greased baking dish, layer half of the sliced potatoes, followed by half of the sautéed mushrooms and half of the Gorgonzola cheese.
  5. Pour half of the cream mixture over the layers.
  6. Repeat the layers with the remaining ingredients.
  7. Top with grated Parmesan cheese.
  8. Cover with foil and bake for 45 minutes.
  9. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes or until golden brown and bubbly.
  10. Let it cool for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

  • For a lighter version, you can substitute half of the heavy cream with milk.
  • Feel free to add other vegetables like spinach or leeks for added flavor.
  • Letting the gratin rest after baking helps the layers set better.
