Miso Butter Chocolate Chip Cookies

  • Total Time: 30 minutes

Description

These Miso Butter Chocolate Chip Cookies offer a unique savory twist on a classic sweet treat. The umami flavor from the miso paste adds depth to the rich buttery cookie dough, complemented by bursts of sweetness from the chocolate chips.

Ingredients

Scale

1 cup unsalted butter, softened
1/2 cup powdered sugar
2 tablespoons miso paste
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup chocolate chips

Instructions

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
In a large mixing bowl, cream together the butter and powdered sugar until light and fluffy.
Add the miso paste and vanilla extract, mix until well combined.
Gradually add the flour, baking soda, and salt into the wet ingredients, mixing until a dough forms.
Fold in the chocolate chips until evenly distributed throughout the dough.
Scoop tablespoon-sized portions of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them apart.
Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are golden brown.
Remove from the oven and let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
