- 12 lasagna noodles
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 pound Italian sausage
- 1 onion, chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 cups ricotta cheese
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 egg
- 4 cups marinara sauce
- 1 tablespoon Italian seasoning
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Cook the lasagna noodles according to package instructions; drain and set aside.
- In a large skillet, brown the ground beef, Italian sausage, onion, and garlic over medium heat until meat is no longer pink; drain excess fat.
- Add marinara sauce and Italian seasoning to the meat mixture; simmer for 10 minutes.
- In a bowl, mix together ricotta cheese, egg, salt, and pepper.
- Spread a layer of meat sauce on the bottom of a 9×13 inch baking dish.
- Layer 4 lasagna noodles over the sauce, then spread half of the ricotta mixture, followed by a third of the mozzarella and a layer of meat sauce.
- Repeat layers, finishing with noodles, remaining meat sauce, and the rest of the mozzarella and Parmesan on top.
- Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes, then remove foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes until cheese is bubbly and golden.
- Let it cool for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.

- For added flavor, consider using fresh herbs like basil or parsley.
- This lasagna can be made ahead of time and refrigerated before baking.
