- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup chopped pistachios
- 1/2 cup chopped maraschino cherries
- 1/2 cup cocoa powder
- 1/2 cup chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add the eggs and vanilla extract, mixing until well combined.
- In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
- Divide the dough into three equal parts.
- In one part, mix in the chopped pistachios; in another part, mix in the chopped cherries; and in the last part, mix in the cocoa powder and chocolate chips.
- Using a spoon, drop rounded tablespoons of each dough onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, alternating colors.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are lightly golden.
- Allow cookies to cool on the sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
- For a more vibrant color, use red food coloring with the cherry dough.
- Store the cookies in an airtight container to maintain freshness.
- Feel free to substitute the nuts or chocolates based on preference.
