  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar (for topping)
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour (for topping)
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter (for topping)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, mix flour, sugar, and salt. Cut in butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  3. Add cold water, a tablespoon at a time, until the mixture forms a ball. Wrap in plastic and refrigerate for 4 hours or overnight.
  4. Roll out the dough and fit it into a pie pan.
  5. In a large bowl, toss sliced apples with lemon juice, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Pour into the pie crust.
  6. In another bowl, combine oats, brown sugar, flour, and butter for the topping until crumbly. Sprinkle over the apples.
  7. Bake for 45-50 minutes until the apples are soft and the topping is golden brown.
