- 2 pounds ground deer meat
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 bell pepper, chopped
- 1 can (14 oz) diced tomatoes
- 1 can (15 oz) kidney beans, drained and rinsed
- 1 can (15 oz) black beans, drained and rinsed
- 2 tablespoons chili powder
- 1 teaspoon cumin
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 cup beef broth
Instructions
- In a skillet, brown the ground deer meat over medium heat until fully cooked.
- Transfer the browned meat to the crock pot.
- Add chopped onion, garlic, and bell pepper to the crock pot.
- Stir in diced tomatoes, kidney beans, black beans, chili powder, cumin, paprika, and beef broth.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours or on high for 3-4 hours.
- Stir occasionally and adjust seasoning as necessary before serving.
Notes
- For a spicier chili, add diced jalapeños or cayenne pepper.
- This chili can be served with cornbread or over rice.
- Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
