Ingredients

  • 2 pounds ground deer meat
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 bell pepper, chopped
  • 1 can (14 oz) diced tomatoes
  • 1 can (15 oz) kidney beans, drained and rinsed
  • 1 can (15 oz) black beans, drained and rinsed
  • 2 tablespoons chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 cup beef broth

Instructions

  1. In a skillet, brown the ground deer meat over medium heat until fully cooked.
  2. Transfer the browned meat to the crock pot.
  3. Add chopped onion, garlic, and bell pepper to the crock pot.
  4. Stir in diced tomatoes, kidney beans, black beans, chili powder, cumin, paprika, and beef broth.
  5. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  6. Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours or on high for 3-4 hours.
  7. Stir occasionally and adjust seasoning as necessary before serving.

Notes

  • For a spicier chili, add diced jalapeños or cayenne pepper.
