Description
A flavorful and hearty dish featuring seasoned hamburger patties served with a rich onion gravy.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1 large onion, sliced
- 2 cups beef broth
- 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
Instructions
- In a bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, milk, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Mix well and form into 4 patties.
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add the patties and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side until browned and cooked through. Remove and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add sliced onions and cook until they are soft and caramelized, about 10 minutes.
- Add beef broth and Worcestershire sauce to the skillet. Scrape the bottom of the pan to release any browned bits.
- Bring the mixture to a simmer and let it cook for about 5 minutes to thicken slightly.
- Return the hamburger patties to the skillet, spooning some gravy over them. Cook for an additional 2 minutes to heat through.
- Serve hot with gravy poured over the patties.
Notes
- For a thicker gravy, you can mix a tablespoon of cornstarch with water and add it to the broth.
- Feel free to add mushrooms or bell peppers for additional flavor.
- Serve with mashed potatoes or rice for a complete meal.
