Description

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 large onion, sliced
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, milk, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Mix well and form into 4 patties.
  2. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add the patties and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side until browned and cooked through. Remove and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, add sliced onions and cook until they are soft and caramelized, about 10 minutes.
  4. Add beef broth and Worcestershire sauce to the skillet. Scrape the bottom of the pan to release any browned bits.
  5. Bring the mixture to a simmer and let it cook for about 5 minutes to thicken slightly.
  6. Return the hamburger patties to the skillet, spooning some gravy over them. Cook for an additional 2 minutes to heat through.
  7. Serve hot with gravy poured over the patties.

Notes

  • For a thicker gravy, you can mix a tablespoon of cornstarch with water and add it to the broth.
  • Feel free to add mushrooms or bell peppers for additional flavor.
  • Serve with mashed potatoes or rice for a complete meal.
