- 6 cups fresh peaches, peeled and sliced
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup milk
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large bowl, combine sliced peaches, 1/2 cup of sugar, cinnamon, and lemon juice. Stir well and set aside.
- In another bowl, mix the flour, baking powder, salt, and remaining sugar.
- Add milk and melted butter to the dry ingredients and stir until just combined.
- Pour the peach mixture into a greased baking dish.
- Dollop the batter over the peaches, spreading it out as best as you can.
- Bake for 40-45 minutes or until the top is golden brown.
- Let cool slightly before serving.
Notes
- Serve warm with vanilla ice cream for an extra treat.
- Can substitute frozen peaches if fresh are unavailable.
