  • Total Time: 8 hours 15 minutes
  • Yield: 6 to 8 servings 1x

Ingredients

Scale

3 to 4 pounds chuck roast
1 packet ranch dressing mix
1 packet au jus gravy mix
1/2 cup unsalted butter
6 to 8 pepperoncini peppers
1/2 cup beef broth
Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

Season the chuck roast with salt and pepper on all sides.
Place the roast in the slow cooker.
Sprinkle the ranch dressing mix and au jus gravy mix evenly over the roast.
Add the unsalted butter on top of the roast.
Pour the beef broth around the roast in the slow cooker.
Add the pepperoncini peppers on top of the roast.
Cover the slow cooker and cook on low for 8 hours or on high for 4 hours, until the meat is tender and easily shreds with a fork.
Once cooked, shred the meat with two forks and mix it with the juices in the slow cooker before serving.

Notes

For added flavor, you can include sliced onions or garlic cloves in the slow cooker. Serve with mashed potatoes or over rice to soak up the delicious gravy.
