These Easter Egg Rice Krispies Treats are a fun and colorful dessert perfect for Easter celebrations. The crispy treats are topped with a sweet icing and sprinkles for an extra festive touch.
Ingredients
6 cups rice krispies cereal
4 cups mini marshmallows
3 tablespoons unsalted butter
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 cup pastel colored sprinkles
1 cup powdered sugar
2–3 tablespoons milk
Food coloring (optional)
Instructions
In a large pot, melt the butter over low heat.
Add the mini marshmallows and stir until completely melted and smooth.
Remove the pot from heat and stir in the vanilla extract.
Add the rice krispies cereal and mix until well combined.
Press the mixture into a greased 9×13 inch baking dish and let it cool.
In a small bowl, whisk together the powdered sugar and milk to make the icing. Add food coloring if desired.
Drizzle the icing over the rice krispies treats and sprinkle with pastel colored sprinkles.
Allow the icing to set before cutting the treats into squares.
