Description
A deliciously savory Swiss burger topped with sautéed mushrooms and onions, melted Swiss cheese, and served on a toasted bun.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb ground beef
- 4 slices Swiss cheese
- 1 cup mushrooms, sliced
- 1 medium onion, sliced
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 4 hamburger buns
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- Optional: lettuce and tomato for garnish
Instructions
- In a bowl, combine ground beef, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Form into 4 patties.
- Heat a skillet over medium heat and add olive oil.
- Add the sliced onions and mushrooms to the skillet. Sauté until softened and caramelized, about 8-10 minutes. Remove and set aside.
- In the same skillet, cook the burger patties for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium doneness, or until desired doneness.
- During the last minute of cooking, place a slice of Swiss cheese on each burger and cover to melt.
- Toast the hamburger buns in the skillet until golden brown.
- Assemble the burgers by placing the patty on the bun, topping with sautéed mushrooms and onions, and any additional garnishes like lettuce and tomato.
- Serve immediately and enjoy!
Notes
- For extra flavor, season the beef with garlic powder or onion powder.
- You can substitute ground turkey for a leaner option.
- Feel free to add other toppings such as pickles or BBQ sauce.
