Crispy Parmesan Cauliflower Steaks

Description

Deliciously crispy cauliflower steaks coated in Parmesan cheese, perfect for a healthy side dish or a vegetarian main course.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 large head of cauliflower
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs (or gluten-free breadcrumbs)
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Olive oil spray

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Remove the leaves from the cauliflower and cut it into 1-inch thick slices to create ‘steaks’.
  3. In a shallow bowl, whisk together the eggs, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.
  4. In another bowl, combine the breadcrumbs and Parmesan cheese.
  5. Dip each cauliflower steak into the egg mixture, then coat it with the breadcrumb and cheese mixture, pressing gently to adhere.
  6. Place the coated steaks on the prepared baking sheet and spray lightly with olive oil.
  7. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown and crispy, flipping halfway through.
  8. Serve hot as a side dish or main course.

Notes

  • For added flavor, try mixing in your favorite herbs or spices into the breadcrumb mixture.
  • These steaks can be served with a dipping sauce or a fresh salad.
  • Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
