  • 2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/2 cup bread crumbs (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Cook the macaroni according to package instructions until al dente; drain and set aside.
  3. In a saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Stir in flour and cook for about 1 minute.
  4. Gradually whisk in milk, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Cook until the sauce thickens.
  5. Remove from heat and stir in cheddar and mozzarella until melted and smooth.
  6. Add the cooked macaroni to the cheese sauce and mix until well combined.
  7. Transfer the mixture to a greased baking dish. If desired, sprinkle bread crumbs on top.
  8. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the top is golden and bubbly.
  9. Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes before serving.
