Description

These Chocolate Mousse Brownies combine rich chocolate brownies with a light and fluffy chocolate mousse topping for a decadent dessert.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup cocoa powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups heavy cream
  • 8 ounces bittersweet chocolate, chopped

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13 inch baking pan.
  2. In a saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat, then stir in the sugar until combined.
  3. Remove from heat and add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  4. Stir in the flour, cocoa powder, and salt until just combined.
  5. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top.
  6. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  7. Let the brownies cool completely in the pan.
  8. In a separate bowl, melt the chopped chocolate over a double boiler or in the microwave.
  9. In another bowl, whip the heavy cream until soft peaks form.
  10. Fold the melted chocolate into the whipped cream until fully combined.
  11. Spread the mousse over the cooled brownies and refrigerate for at least 2 hours before serving.
