These Chocolate Mousse Brownies combine rich chocolate brownies with a light and fluffy chocolate mousse topping for a decadent dessert.

- 1 cup unsalted butter
- 2 cups granulated sugar
- 4 large eggs
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup cocoa powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 1/2 cups heavy cream
- 8 ounces bittersweet chocolate, chopped
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13 inch baking pan.
- In a saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat, then stir in the sugar until combined.
- Remove from heat and add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
- Stir in the flour, cocoa powder, and salt until just combined.
- Pour the batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
- Let the brownies cool completely in the pan.
- In a separate bowl, melt the chopped chocolate over a double boiler or in the microwave.
- In another bowl, whip the heavy cream until soft peaks form.
- Fold the melted chocolate into the whipped cream until fully combined.
- Spread the mousse over the cooled brownies and refrigerate for at least 2 hours before serving.
