  • Yield: 4 servings 1x

Description

Cheesy Potato Puffs are delicious bite-sized snacks made from mashed potatoes and cheese, perfect for parties or as a tasty appetizer.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups mashed potatoes
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or mozzarella)
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup chopped green onions
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Oil for frying

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine the mashed potatoes, shredded cheese, flour, green onions, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
  2. Mix until well combined and the mixture is easy to handle.
  3. Form small balls or patties from the mixture.
  4. Heat oil in a frying pan over medium heat.
  5. Fry the potato puffs until golden brown on all sides, about 3-4 minutes.
  6. Remove from oil and drain on paper towels.
  7. Serve hot with your favorite dipping sauce.

Notes

  • For a spicier version, add diced jalapeños to the mixture.
  • These can be baked instead of fried; just place on a baking sheet and bake at 400°F (200°C) for 20-25 minutes.
  • Make sure the oil is hot enough before frying to ensure they are crispy.
