Cheesy Ham Puff Pastry Christmas Tree

Description

A festive and delicious appetizer made with flaky puff pastry, savory ham, and gooey cheese, shaped like a Christmas tree.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 package puff pastry (2 sheets)
  • 1 cup diced ham
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or mozzarella)
  • 1 egg (for egg wash)
  • Flour (for dusting)
  • Fresh parsley (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Roll out the puff pastry on a lightly floured surface.
  3. Cut the pastry into a tree shape, leaving enough pastry for the trunk.
  4. Layer the diced ham and shredded cheese on one half of the tree shape.
  5. Fold the other half over the filling and press to seal.
  6. Cut slits in the sides of the tree to create branches.
  7. Brush the top with beaten egg for a golden finish.
  8. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown and puffed.
  9. Garnish with fresh parsley and serve warm.

Notes

  • Ensure the puff pastry is completely thawed before using.
  • You can use any cheese of your choice.
  • For a vegetarian version, omit the ham and add more vegetables.
