Ingredients
Scale
Main Filling
- 2 cups cooked chicken breast, diced or shredded
- 1½ cups sharp cheddar cheese, freshly shredded
- ½ cup cream cheese, softened
- 4 large flour tortillas
Garlic Butter Mixture
- 3 tablespoons butter, melted
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
Seasonings
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- ½ teaspoon smoked paprika
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- ¾ teaspoon salt
Optional Additions
- 2 green onions, thinly sliced
- ¼ cup sour cream
- 2 tablespoons ranch dressing
- 1 tablespoon olive oil for cooking
Instructions
- Mix Garlic Butter: Combine melted butter, minced garlic, parsley, and garlic powder in a small bowl. This aromatic mixture will infuse everything with that signature garlic flavor we’re craving.
- Season Chicken: In a large bowl, mix diced chicken with half the garlic butter, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper. Let it sit for 2-3 minutes to absorb flavors.
- Prepare Filling: Add softened cream cheese and half the cheddar to the seasoned chicken. Mix gently until everything is well combined and creamy. Don’t overmix or it gets mushy.
- Assemble Wraps: Place ¼ of the filling in center of each tortilla, sprinkle remaining cheddar on top, then fold bottom up and sides in. Roll tightly but don’t overstuff.
- Heat Skillet: Heat a large skillet over medium heat with a drizzle of olive oil. The pan should be hot enough that a drop of water sizzles immediately.
- Cook Wraps: Place wraps seam-side down and cook 2-3 minutes until golden and crispy. Flip carefully and cook another 2 minutes until cheese is completely melted and oozing.
- Finish and Serve: Brush tops with remaining garlic butter while still hot. Let cool for 1 minute before slicing diagonally to show off that gorgeous melted cheese interior.
Notes
- Don’t overfill tortillas or they’ll burst during cooking and make a mess.
- Medium heat is crucial – high heat burns the outside before cheese melts.
- Soften cream cheese completely for smooth, lump-free filling.
- Warm tortillas briefly to prevent tearing when rolling.
- Store leftovers wrapped individually in foil to maintain freshness.
- Reheat in skillet, not microwave, to keep exterior crispy.
