Description
A fresh and delicious Caprese Sandwich made with ripe tomatoes, fresh mozzarella, basil, and a drizzle of balsamic glaze.
Ingredients

- 2 slices of fresh ciabatta bread
- 1 medium ripe tomato, sliced
- 4 oz fresh mozzarella cheese, sliced
- Fresh basil leaves
- 1 tablespoon balsamic glaze
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
Instructions
- Preheat a grill or panini press.
- Drizzle olive oil on one side of each slice of bread.
- On the un-oiled side of one slice, layer the mozzarella, tomato, and basil leaves.
- Season with salt and pepper.
- Drizzle balsamic glaze over the top.
- Top with the second slice of bread, oiled side up.
- Grill the sandwich until the bread is golden and the cheese is melted, about 3-4 minutes on each side.
- Remove from heat, slice in half, and serve immediately.
Notes
- For a vegan version, substitute mozzarella with vegan cheese.
- Adjust the amount of balsamic glaze to taste.
- Use heirloom tomatoes for added flavor.
