Cajun Shrimp and Salmon with Garlic Cream Sauce, Mashed Potatoes

A delicious Cajun dish featuring shrimp and salmon in a creamy garlic sauce, served with fluffy mashed potatoes.


Ingredients

  • 1 pound shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1 pound salmon fillet
  • 2 tablespoons Cajun seasoning
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 pounds potatoes, peeled and cubed
  • 4 tablespoons butter (for mashed potatoes)
  • 1/2 cup milk (for mashed potatoes)
  • Chives for garnish

Instructions

  1. Season the shrimp and salmon with Cajun seasoning, salt, and pepper.
  2. In a large skillet, heat olive oil and butter over medium heat.
  3. Add the shrimp and cook for 2-3 minutes until pink. Remove and set aside.
  4. In the same skillet, add minced garlic and sauté for 1 minute.
  5. Pour in the heavy cream and bring to a simmer, stirring occasionally.
  6. Return the shrimp to the skillet and add the salmon, cooking for an additional 5-7 minutes until the salmon is cooked through.
  7. Meanwhile, boil the potatoes in salted water until tender, about 15-20 minutes.
  8. Drain the potatoes and mash with butter and milk until smooth. Season with salt.
  9. Serve the shrimp and salmon over a bed of mashed potatoes, drizzled with the garlic cream sauce. Garnish with chives.

Notes

  • For a spicier dish, increase the amount of Cajun seasoning.
  • Feel free to substitute the salmon with another fish of your choice.
  • Adjust the creaminess of the sauce by adding more or less heavy cream.
