Description

Ingredients

  • 1 pound Brussels sprouts, trimmed and halved
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup grated Gruyère cheese
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil and blanch the Brussels sprouts for 5 minutes.
  3. Drain the Brussels sprouts and transfer them to a baking dish.
  4. In a saucepan, combine the heavy cream, garlic, salt, and pepper. Heat over medium until just simmering.
  5. Pour the cream mixture over the Brussels sprouts and mix well.
  6. Sprinkle the Gruyère cheese evenly over the top.
  7. In a small bowl, mix breadcrumbs with Parmesan and olive oil, then sprinkle over the cheese layer.
  8. Bake for 25-30 minutes until the top is golden brown and bubbly.
  9. Let it cool for a few minutes before serving.

  • For a healthier version, substitute heavy cream with half-and-half.
  • Feel free to add cooked bacon or ham for extra flavor.
