A creamy and cheesy Brussels Sprouts Gratin, baked to perfection with a golden crust.

- 1 pound Brussels sprouts, trimmed and halved
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup grated Gruyère cheese
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil and blanch the Brussels sprouts for 5 minutes.
- Drain the Brussels sprouts and transfer them to a baking dish.
- In a saucepan, combine the heavy cream, garlic, salt, and pepper. Heat over medium until just simmering.
- Pour the cream mixture over the Brussels sprouts and mix well.
- Sprinkle the Gruyère cheese evenly over the top.
- In a small bowl, mix breadcrumbs with Parmesan and olive oil, then sprinkle over the cheese layer.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes until the top is golden brown and bubbly.
- Let it cool for a few minutes before serving.
Notes
- For a healthier version, substitute heavy cream with half-and-half.
- Feel free to add cooked bacon or ham for extra flavor.
- This dish can be prepared ahead of time and baked just before serving.
