Boston Cream Cupcakes


Description

Delicious cupcakes filled with creamy custard and topped with rich chocolate ganache, perfect for any occasion.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup pastry cream (for filling)
  • 1 cup chocolate ganache (for topping)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a muffin tin with cupcake liners.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, whisk together milk, melted butter, eggs, and vanilla extract.
  4. Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  5. Fill each cupcake liner about 2/3 full with batter.
  6. Bake for 18-20 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  7. Allow cupcakes to cool completely before filling with pastry cream.
  8. Using a piping bag, fill the center of each cupcake with pastry cream.
  9. Top each cupcake with chocolate ganache, allowing it to drizzle down the sides.
  10. Let the ganache set before serving.

Notes

  • For a richer flavor, use dark chocolate for the ganache.
  • Make the pastry cream a day ahead for easier assembly.
  • Store cupcakes in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
