- 2 cups fresh blueberries
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup water
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
- Add in the milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract, and mix until well combined.
- Fold in the blueberries gently into the batter.
- Pour the batter into a greased baking dish.
- In a separate bowl, mix together the water and remaining sugar, then pour it over the batter in the baking dish.
- Bake for 40-45 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and a toothpick comes out clean.
- Let cool for a few minutes before serving. Enjoy warm or at room temperature.
Notes
- For a twist, add a sprinkle of cinnamon or nutmeg to the batter.
