1 pound boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into bite-sized pieces
2 tablespoons soy sauce
1 tablespoon oyster sauce
1 tablespoon black pepper
1 teaspoon sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
1 onion, thinly sliced
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 red bell pepper, sliced
1 green bell pepper, sliced
1/2 cup chicken broth
1 tablespoon cornstarch dissolved in 2 tablespoons water
Green onions, chopped, for garnish


Instructions

In a bowl, combine the chicken pieces with soy sauce, oyster sauce, black pepper, sugar, and salt. Let marinate for 15 minutes.
Heat vegetable oil in a large pan over medium-high heat. Add the marinated chicken and cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes.
Add the sliced onion and minced garlic to the pan. Cook for another 2-3 minutes until fragrant.
Stir in the sliced red and green bell peppers. Cook for 2-3 minutes.
Pour in the chicken broth and bring to a simmer. Cook for 5 minutes.
Stir in the cornstarch mixture to thicken the sauce. Cook for another 2 minutes.
Garnish with chopped green onions before serving.
Serve the black pepper chicken hot over steamed rice.
