Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Cook the macaroni according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  3. In a saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Stir in the flour, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper, and cook for about 1 minute.
  4. Gradually whisk in the milk, cooking until the sauce thickens.
  5. Add the shredded cheddar and mozzarella cheese to the sauce, stirring until melted and smooth.
  6. Combine the cooked macaroni with the cheese sauce, mixing well.
  7. Pour the mac and cheese into a greased baking dish. Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese and breadcrumbs if desired.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until bubbly and golden on top.
