- 12 large pasta shells
- 1 pound ground beef
- 15 ounces ricotta cheese
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 egg
- 2 cups marinara sauce
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Cook the pasta shells according to package instructions until al dente, then drain and set aside.
- In a skillet, brown the ground beef over medium heat, seasoning with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the cooked beef, ricotta cheese, half of the mozzarella, Parmesan cheese, and the egg. Mix well.
- Stuff each pasta shell with the beef and cheese mixture.
- Spread a thin layer of marinara sauce on the bottom of a baking dish.
- Arrange the stuffed shells in the dish, then cover with remaining marinara sauce and sprinkle the leftover mozzarella on top.
- Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 25 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
- Let cool for a few minutes before serving.
Notes
- For a lighter version, you can substitute ground turkey for beef.
- Feel free to add vegetables like spinach or mushrooms to the filling for added nutrition.
- This dish can be made ahead of time and stored in the refrigerator before baking.
