  • 12 large pasta shells
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 15 ounces ricotta cheese
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 egg
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Cook the pasta shells according to package instructions until al dente, then drain and set aside.
  3. In a skillet, brown the ground beef over medium heat, seasoning with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning.
  4. In a mixing bowl, combine the cooked beef, ricotta cheese, half of the mozzarella, Parmesan cheese, and the egg. Mix well.
  5. Stuff each pasta shell with the beef and cheese mixture.
  6. Spread a thin layer of marinara sauce on the bottom of a baking dish.
  7. Arrange the stuffed shells in the dish, then cover with remaining marinara sauce and sprinkle the leftover mozzarella on top.
  8. Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 25 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
  9. Let cool for a few minutes before serving.

  • For a lighter version, you can substitute ground turkey for beef.
