This Beef and Broccoli Stir Fry is a classic Chinese dish that is savory, sweet, and satisfying. Tender slices of beef and crisp broccoli florets are coated in a flavorful sauce, perfect for serving over steamed rice.
Ingredients
1 lb flank steak, sliced thinly against the grain
1/2 cup soy sauce
1/4 cup brown sugar
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 teaspoon fresh ginger, grated
2 tablespoons cornstarch
3 tablespoons vegetable oil
4 cups broccoli florets
1/2 cup beef broth
2 tablespoons oyster sauce
1 teaspoon sesame oil
1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes
Cooked white rice, for serving
Instructions
In a bowl, combine sliced flank steak, soy sauce, brown sugar, garlic, ginger, and cornstarch. Let it marinate for 15 minutes.
In a large skillet or wok, heat 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil over high heat. Add the marinated beef and cook until browned. Remove beef from the skillet and set aside.
In the same skillet, add the broccoli florets and beef broth. Cover and cook for about 3-4 minutes until the broccoli is tender-crisp.
Return the cooked beef to the skillet. Add oyster sauce, sesame oil, and red pepper flakes. Stir well to combine and coat the beef and broccoli.
Serve the beef and broccoli stir fry over cooked white rice.
