Instructions
- Get That Taco Filling Ready:: First up, brown your ground beef in a skillet over medium heat. Break it up with a spoon as it cooks. Once it’s all browned and lovely, drain off any excess grease—super important, hon, nobody wants a soggy bomb! Then, stir in your taco seasoning and the diced green chiles. Let it simmer for a minute, getting all fragrant, then remove it from the heat. Now, here’s where the magic happens: stir in that softened cream cheese until it’s all melted and creamy, coating every bit of beef. Oh, it smells heavenly at this point!
- Prep Those Biscuits for Bomb Status:: Time to get your biscuit dough ready. Pop open that can and separate each biscuit. On a lightly floured surface, gently flatten each biscuit into about a 4-inch circle. You want it thin enough to wrap, but not so thin it tears. This is where I sometimes get a little impatient and stretch too hard, causing a rip. Take your time! You’re creating the shell for your Air Fryer Cheesy Taco Bombs, so treat them with a little love.
- Fill ‘Em Up and Seal ‘Em Tight:: Spoon about a tablespoon of your cheesy taco beef mixture into the center of each flattened biscuit. Don’t overdo it, okay? That’s where my earlier explosion came from! Top that with a sprinkle of shredded cheddar cheese. Now, carefully gather the edges of the biscuit dough up and over the filling, pinching them together tightly at the top to seal. Roll it gently in your hands to form a neat, little bomb. It should feel secure, like a tiny, flavor-packed package!
- Air Fryer Cheesy Taco Bombs Prep:: Preheat your air fryer to 350°F (175°C). While it’s heating, lightly spray the outside of each sealed taco bomb with olive oil spray. This step is crucial for that gorgeous golden-brown, crispy crust. Arrange the bombs in a single layer in your air fryer basket, making sure not to overcrowd it. You’ll probably need to work in batches, depending on the size of your air fryer. Overcrowding means less crispy goodness, and we can’t have that!
- Get ‘Em Crispy in the Air Fryer:: Air fry for 8-10 minutes, flipping them halfway through. You’re looking for a beautiful golden-brown color and a wonderfully crispy exterior. The cheese inside should be perfectly melted and gooey. Every air fryer is a little different, so keep an eye on them. Mine usually takes closer to 9 minutes, but yours might be quicker or a tad slower. Trust your gut and those golden-brown vibes!
- Serve Up Your Air Fryer Cheesy Taco Bombs:: Once they’re done, carefully remove the Air Fryer Cheesy Taco Bombs from the air fryer basket. Let them cool for just a minute or two – that cheese inside is piping hot! Serve them immediately with your favorite dipping sauces. I love a dollop of sour cream, a spoonful of salsa, and a sprinkle of fresh cilantro. Seriously, these are best hot, when that cheese is still gloriously melty. Enjoy your crispy, cheesy, taco-packed creations!
