- 2 cups cooked macaroni
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 cup cream cheese
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Oil for frying
Instructions
- In a large bowl, mix together the cooked macaroni, cheddar cheese, cream cheese, and Parmesan cheese until well combined.
- Add garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper, and mix well.
- Form the mixture into small balls, about 1 inch in diameter.
- Set up a breading station with flour, beaten eggs, and breadcrumbs in separate bowls.
- Dredge each ball in flour, dip in egg, and then coat with breadcrumbs.
- Heat oil in a deep fryer or a large pot over medium heat.
- Fry the balls in batches until golden brown and crispy, about 3-4 minutes.
- Remove and drain on paper towels.
- Serve warm with creamy tomato sauce for dipping.
Notes
- For a spicier version, add jalapeños to the mac and cheese mixture.
- These can be made ahead of time and frozen before frying.
- Make sure the oil is hot enough before frying to prevent the balls from absorbing too much oil.
